ASSOCIATION OF VIETNAM UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES
Implementing Decision No. 34/QD-KĐCLGD, dated March 26, 2020 and Decision No. 37/QD-KĐCLGD dated April 16, 2020 of the Director of the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation (KĐCLGD) – Association of Education Quality Assurance Vietnam Universities and Colleges (CTĐHCĐVN) on the establishment of an external evaluation team (Evaluation) of the training program (CTĐT) for undergraduate medical qualifications of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU. On May 4, 2020, the Center for Educational Quality Assessment – Vietnam Association of Community Councils along with the Evaluation Expert Team in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU, organized a preliminary survey (KSSB) at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU.
Participating in KSSB on the side of the Center for Educational Quality Assessment, there was Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Phuong Nga, Center Director; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Chief of Central Office.
On the side of the Expert Evaluation Team, there was Prof. Dr. Science. Banh Tien Long, former Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training – Head of the Evaluation Delegation; MSc. Dinh Tuan Dung – Union Secretary.
Welcoming and working with the Delegation of Experts from the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, there was Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh, Dean of the Faculty, Chairman of the SA Council; Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hai – Deputy Dean of the Faculty, Vice Chairman of the SA Council; Associate Professor, PhD. Pham Trung Kien – Deputy Dean of the Faculty, Vice Chairman of the SA Council; Associate Professor, PhD. Dinh Doan Long – Deputy Dean of the Faculty, Member of the SA Council; Associate Professor, PhD. Pham Nhu Hai – Deputy Dean of the Faculty, member of the SA Council; MSc. Nguyen Tuan Son – Deputy Director of the Center for Education Evaluation and Evaluation, Secretary of the SA Council, along with members of the SA Council, specialized groups, representatives of unions and units of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU.
The main activities of the KSSB include: (i) The Expert Evaluation Team reports the results of the Evaluation Profile study of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, and announces the official survey plan; (ii). Agree on the evidence that the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy needs to supplement; number and composition of subjects the Faculty needs to invite for interview; (iii) Agree on KSCT schedule; (iv) Agree on working principles; (v) The appraisal team inspected a number of locations prepared for the inspection phase such as the interview room, the hall for the opening ceremony of the inspection session, etc. (vi) Preliminary inspection of the supporting documents of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.
At the end of the KSSB day, the Director of the Center for Educational Quality Assessment – Vietnam Association of Community Councils, Head of the Evaluation Expert Team and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU, signed a Memorandum of Understanding after the KSSB.
From May 11, 2020 to May 14, 2020, the Expert Evaluation Team officially surveyed the standard undergraduate training program in Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU. The team of experts from the GGN surveyed and studied documents and interviewed employers; former learner; learner; Faculty leaders; Leaders of mass organizations, departments, centers, departments, functional departments, and lecturer representatives; Collect feedback from stakeholders; Observe the facilities of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy to verify the information in the SA report.
After 4 working days, the Closing Ceremony of the KSCT round to serve the Evaluation of the Medical Training Program of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU, Hanoi was held at 4:30 p.m. on May 14, 2020. At the closing ceremony of the KSCT round, Head of the Expert Evaluation Team, Prof. PhD. Banh Tien Long presented the Preliminary Report on the results of evaluating the quality of the Medical Training Program of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU.
Prof.Dr. Le Ngoc Thanh, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, affirmed that the Faculty will have specific and feasible plans and solutions to promote strengths and overcome shortcomings according to the recommendations of the Evaluation Expert Team.
At the end of the closing session, the Director of the Center for Educational Quality Evaluation – Vietnam Association of General Education Programs, the Head of the Evaluation expert team and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU, signed the minutes of completion of the evaluation period.
